How this is calculated
The calculator finds the last day of the current month, calendar quarter or calendar year, then counts the Monday–Friday days from today through that end date — the same weekends-only rule as the Business Days Calculator. "Elapsed" is the working days already gone by since the period started, and the two always add up to the period's total business day count.
Why "from today" is a different question
"How many working days between March 1 and March 31" and "how many working days do I have left this month" sound similar but need different inputs — the second one only makes sense relative to today, and re-typing today's date into a generic two-date calculator every morning gets old fast. This tool skips that step: pick a period and it always measures from right now. It's the same use case as checking a sprint deadline, a month-end close, or how much runway is left before a quarterly filing — without doing the date math by hand first.

Are public holidays excluded?
No — like the Business Days Calculator, this only excludes Saturdays and Sundays. Holidays vary too much by country and employer to apply one default; subtract any known holidays in the period yourself.
Is "quarter" here a calendar quarter or a fiscal quarter?
