What never leaves your device

Every calculation on ZenCountdown — days between dates, countdowns, age, business days — runs in JavaScript in your own browser. The dates and event names you type are never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers.

Local storage

Your theme preference and "recent countdowns" list are saved using your browser's local storage, on your device only. Clearing your browser data removes them. We cannot see this information.

Shareable countdown links

When you share a countdown link, the event title and date are encoded directly in the URL you share — not stored in a database. Anyone with that link can see the title and date you entered.

Advertising

ZenCountdown plans to use Google AdSense to keep every tool free. AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can control ad personalisation via Google's Ad Settings, and this policy will be updated with full disclosure before ads go live.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand which tools are used, without tracking individuals across other websites.
