How this is calculated

Each row is one shift: a start time, an end time, and an unpaid break in minutes. The calculator finds the duration of each shift — treating an end time earlier than the start time as crossing midnight — subtracts the break, then adds every shift together into one total. Set an hourly rate and the same total converts straight to a before-tax gross pay figure.

Built for real, uneven weeks

Most work weeks aren't one clean, repeating schedule — a shift on Monday might run 9 to 5, Wednesday might be a short 11-to-3, and Friday might close out overnight. This tool is for adding those up exactly as worked, shift by shift, rather than assuming every day looks the same. Nothing you enter is uploaded or saved — it's recalculated fresh in your browser every time.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Working Hours Calculator?

The Working Hours Calculator multiplies one fixed daily schedule across a date range. This Timesheet Calculator adds up individual shifts you actually worked — each with its own start time, end time and break — which is what most people mean by "add up my timesheet."

Does it handle overnight shifts?

Yes — if a shift's end time is earlier than its start time (for example, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM), it's treated as crossing midnight and counted as 8 hours, not a negative number.

Can I see my estimated pay, not just hours?

Yes — enter an hourly rate and the total gross pay across every shift is calculated alongside the hours total. This is a before-tax estimate only.
